Helicopter parents drag down the the frontline retail workforce

While this is a US context, I think we all have experienced helicopter parenting – and it has taken a strange new form as the next generation is entering the retail workforce. From sitting in on their child’s job interviews to showing up to lecture irate customers who are yelling at their son or daughter, this generation of helicopter parents isn’t leaving advocacy behind when their kids clock in for their shift.




 

Bunnings-blocking land deal earns $500,000 fine for developer

NGB Properties has been fined $500,000 over an anti-competitive covenant aimed at preventing competitor Bunnings from opening a store close to Mitre 10 Mega. This is the first time a penalty has been imposed under section 28 of the Commerce Act, which prohibits the use of land covenants that have the purpose of substantially lessening competition.


 

Australian adaptive fashion brand The Shapes United to be sold through Walmart

The Shapes United is well and truly making its mark in the industry with a range of apparel designed for all people, including those living with a disability or mobility impairments. All the brand’s clothes feature adaptations such as wider openings, hook and loop closures, no tags and flat seams.


 

Cher launches 'Cherlato' with Kiwi artisan gelato company

Music icon Cher has partnered with Gianpaolo Grazioli to launch the mobile gelato truck ‘Cherato’ in LA. Some of the menu items include: Snap out of it, Breakfast at Cher’s and LA, I Love you.


 

oOh! expands data offering with Flybuys and Westpac

oOh!media has launched an expanded data suite for enhanced capabilities in audience-led campaign planning and attribution, signing a long-term, out of home partnership with Unpacked by Flybuys (the insights, data and measurement division of Flybuys).

oOh!s data suite integrates transactional banking data insights through Westpac DataX, the Westpac Group's data insights and analytics offering.
