Useful jargon or simply irritating?

Let’s be honest, we all at one time or another have used buzzwords. What often starts as a signal to identify a new way of thinking or initiative, others become like a suit, a way to “dress up” or symbolise that you are in the know.
Whatever the case, while mocked, buzzwords often become part of our standard business speak and part of our daily repertoire. And while they can appear annoying, they can capture something that allows us to collectively understand what the speaker is trying to communicate.
What are your last favourite buzzwords and have any new ones emerged that should be noted early in 2022 either to keep or eradicate in the workplace? Make your nominations of least favourite buzzwords and we will put together the BUZZWORD BINGO card for your next Zoom meeting.
Here are some of our LEAST favourites:
New normal
Agile
Unpack
Lean in
Operationalise
Circle back
North Star
Digital transformation (mainly because it gets so misused!)
Low hanging fruit
Quick wins
And some cards to get you started or inspired!
Tell us your least favourite buzzwords in the comments section and we will put together the BUZZWORD BINGO card for your next Zoom meeting.
